this random picture was also in that pile of old family photos that i have. it was a picture that i totally rememeber snapping as a kid. i think it was a sign somewhere. but what is it? huhwha?! i dunno. do you?
Most of those are pretty ancient...kind of like Aramaic
I know BASIC and Pascal. Texas Instruments uses a special version of BASIC on their graphing calculators (that's how I was first introduced to programming...being bored in high school and finding entertainment in my calculator). And Delphi (the language I use at work) is sort of an upgrade to Object Pascal.
When I was 20, I had a manager at work who used to remince over his days in college coding in SNOBOL (proncounces snowball).
The guy that invented FORTRAN died last week. FORTRAN was the first language of its kind (something that could be read more like english versus the cryptic machine language of that time that had been known to fry your brain if you looked at nothing but code for more than 30 minutes)...so he kind of ruled.
A "hello world" program is a software program that prints out "Hello world!" on a display device. It is used in many introductory tutorials for teaching a programming language. Such a program is typically one of the simplest programs possible in a computer language.
My favorite is the one in BrainFuck. I don't know BrainFuck, but it looks like fun.
The name "Elliette Devine" came to me in one of the cabillion daydreams that I tend to have. It sounded cute, smart, sexy, and sophisticated. When I decided to name this blog, it just sounded right. Kind of like when I first saw Pazzo, and I decided that he "just looked like a Pazzo", after reading Waiting for Gidot. I come here to write about my best friends, what I see during the day, kittens, cooking, clothes, boys, and anything else that might interest me. Nothing on this blog is false. Even the clown picture that looks completely photoshopped. In fact, on days when I don't have much to talk about--if I'm near a scanner, I will post a childhood picture for your viewing pleasure.
