Kendi

I have no pictures, but last night the scientist and I looked after Miss Kendi. I was a little worn out from the night before, and my old ladyness wanted to be in bed by 11pm... well, turned out, her parents movie didnt start until 1030 in the city, and Kendi had napped all day before, some homegirl was up and going and not ready to fall asleep when midnight rolled around.

As usual, there were many highlights of the evening... the first one being turkey and rice on the stove. Followed by mochachip ice cream and some SNL.

Then the blocks came out... and Kendi and the scientist built a fort for her dolls and a my little pony with a chopped off tail. One of the plastic dolls that she had was wearing a skirt that barely covered her crotch (i was trying to type this politely, but the doll looked like a total slut with that outfit on!!!). And the my little pony was just like one I had, except it had futuristic glitter hair.

Kendi is at the age now where she understood that I was sleepy, so she parked up next to me on the couch and we fell asleep with her talking... and I responded in kind trying to keep up. I'd look up and she would go "WHY ARE YOUR EYES OPEN??? you're supposed to be sleeping!!!!" and i'd say "I know! why are YOUR eyes open? go back to sleep then!" and she'd say "well, you're the sleepy one. i'm just watching YOU"... and then i fell back asleep to catch her with her eyes closed. We went back and forth like this for a good hour until I saw that she was completely knocked out, and then I was able to sleep in peace. I got driven home around 2 and proceeded to pass out until this morning around 9 or so.

There will be many more weekends spent with Kendi in the upcoming months that I truly look forward to. She's turning six next month.

Her mom says that shes a little shy around crowds, but I think I'm going to ask Kendi if she'd escort me to the flea market next weekend. I'm sure that I can convince her to come with me if we both wear our favorite color yellow. And we will walk through the ft green flea market and be the two cutest cousins ever.

Sunny Sunday

I am going to start blogging again. Even if it's only one thing a day... Because I have been so down in the dumps lately, that I need to take note of the little things that make me happy, rather than focus so much on the negativo.

So, I will start with this moment right now... I woke up and cleaned my apartment after 2 weeks of half ass cleaning... nothing is worse than going to bed on Sunday knowing that you're going to come home every evening following a long days work to a dirty ass apartment.

I sent this silly picture of me with the clean apartment to my scientist. I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it, and I thought I'd share it with all of you.

PEEP THE GLOSSY FLOORS YALL!

Psssst. 8 dollar boots below, and more.

Wow. I really haven't logged in to this thing since July. Funny, because that's right around the time that I started my job that I-- *knock on wood*, seem to finally be catching on to and getting a handle on. And it's been around a month in a half since I've had to go in to the bathroom and cry at work, so that's good.

My life has certainly changed these last couple of months. I feel like I've turned in to one of those New York City residents I always heard about. Working the long days (Mondays and Tuesdays for me are usually 9am-8,9,10,or 11pm) And trying to figure out how I can get one night just to myself, but I also need to see my girlfriends.

Also never thought i'd be saying this, but I met a very nice young man that's been a part of my life. I met him the day that my Grandmother passed away back in July, and he's been such a great support system for me on that front as well as many others, he's made my life a lot brighter.

I just revisted my blog, and boy do I need a scanner to maintain it. I have so much I want to share about my family, and also want to share with the world what a wonderful person my Grandmother was. But there is so much that I have to say about that, that it's most likely going to be a bit of a series once I get a new scanner to share photos. I also have to get my camera up and running again to shoot stuff I have here in the apartment.

I may not be able to blog once a day like before, but I'm going to try to make a nice post once a week.

Of course the first thing I want to share are these puppies:

These arrived in the mail today... and they are absolutely gorg. This bid on ebay started at .99 cents and went up to 8bux and some change, and I won... Shipping of course was like 7.50... but I got those lovely boots for around 8 dollars. Those boots are the reason why I will never spend money in a real store again. I know if they were in some little brooklyn boutique, they'd go for 100bux easy. The leather is like butter and they fit me to a T. Yes, I'm wearing them tomorrow. I might even sleep in them tonight. The picture doesn't do them any justice.

More goodness to come on my blog. Stay tuned. Most likely after the holidays.

xoxo

Atoosa Rulez

courtesy of gawker. they/she cracks me up:

Can you believe Lindsay has gotten in trouble again? Let me know your take on it.
Here's my take:
When you are in recovery for ANY addiction, you have to get yourself AWAY from all the things that triggered you. You can't just wear an alcohol monitor on your ankle and keep going out with your party friends.
Even with me - I realized I was a work addict and that even though I'd left my job, by being in NYC, I was still being triggered by all the same things that made me workaholic. That's why I've decided to spend the summer in the Hamptons.

Biennial Clothing Swap. This Sunday, beyoootches.

That's right. I will be opening my apartment for another clothing swap with my lovely neighbor, this Sunday.

Email me for the deets. Clean out your closets. Leftovers will be donated. I have no clue what the picture above means, but it was one of the first to come up on google when looking for a clothing swap picture.

Sunday. 130pm. Get there early to get first dibs before it all just turns in to size zero pants and dirty wifebeaters!
